SCHOOL ETHOS

In our school we are committed to providing appropriate opportunities for the development of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural values through both the ethos and the curriculum.  This will be undertaken in partnership with parents/carers and will take account of the individual needs of pupils and the views of all our stakeholders.

Our Vision, Values and Aims are at the heart of our ethos. We look at these regularly to ensure that they truly reflect the uniqueness of our school.

In January 2025, in consultation with pupils, parents, staff and partners, we discussed, developed and updated our shared vision, which we believe reflects the school and our place in the community and wider world.

Vision

We want our children to continue to develop their love of learning through the wide and varied opportunities given to them, so that they become

  • successful learners
  • confident individuals
  • responsible citizens and
  • effective contributors

Values

Our school welcomes and encourages diversity and individuality, while emphasising our common commitment to moral values such as honesty, respect for others, compassion and justice.  Fundamental principles of our school are that all who are involved in the life of our school have the right to be respected as individuals and carry the responsibility to act in a considerate and respectful manner towards others.  We are firmly committed to the elimination of any form of discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, gender or disability.

Aims

To create an environment, which empowers excellence and where all of our children are

Confident, Resilient, Inclusive and Nurturing,

and who have the knowledge and skills they need to flourish as human beings and make the world a better place.

As TEAM Kilmodan, we are committed to raising standards, to provide an excellent education for every child in our care.
